Description: A Royal Copenhagen Vase by Nils Thorsson with abstract bird design. Royal Copenhagen was established in 1775 and exclusively made porcelain dinner services and figurines until 1895 when stoneware was added to the product lines.
Nils Thorsson worked at Royal Copenhagen from 1912-1975 developing and designing matte glazed, incised decorated stoneware in various forms. Thorsson always applied clean and elegant forms to the prevailing decorative trends and produced prime examples of mid-century modernism.
Company and designers mark on base. c. 1969-74.
