Description: A 3-dimensional wooden sculpture by Brian Willsher. By realigning dissected pieces this wooden sculpture takes on an exploding form, expanding from the base to form an intricate three-dimensional work, which looks different from every angle from which it is viewed.
Brian Willsher is a sculptor, mainly in wood, of works which mix geometric abstraction with organic abstraction. He was born and remains based in London. He studied engineering at Woolwich Polytechnic for three years from 1946, however, a visit to Guernsey in 1956 proved to be a turning point in his life, when Willsher made the decision to quit work and pursue his own creative interests. Willsher rarely exhibits, though in the 1980s he showed at the Tate Britain and in the 1990's at the Belgrave and Boundary galleries.
Signed and dated on base c.1980.
Dimensions: H: 49cm (19") W: 30cm (12") at widest point
