Description: A green glazed bowl by Carl Harry stalhane for Rorstrand.
Carl-Harry Stalhane trained as a painter and sculptor in Stockholm and Paris. He is considered one of Sweden's leading ceramic artists.
At the age of 19 in 1939 he was hired by Rorstrand pottery in Sweden to paint stoneware. He rose quickly to become the art director and chief designer for the firm. By the early 1940's his work had attracted international attention. He specialized in, mat glazed, earthy stoneware that was inspired by the Chinese Sung tradition.
His work is included in the permanent collections of The National Museum in Stockholm, The Danish Museum of Decorative Art in Copenhagen and the Museum of Modern Art in New York

Rorstrand and designers incised mark on base.

Additional Information: By 1951 he had won a diploma of honor at the prestigious Milan Triennale and the 1954 Milan Triennale awarded him a gold medal for his designs.
While continuing at Rorstrand, between 1963 and 1971 he was a senior ceramics instructor at The School of Arts and Crafts at Goteberg
